Frequently asked Questions
Here at United Bus we try to make this as simple as possible. We understand that planning for an event can be tough, having to go through the difficulty of getting your group together, collecting money, planning the event, and a variety of other things. We will work with you to make sure your day runs smoothly.
Once you decide to book, we will email or fax you the contract. Once this is signed, and 20% of the total fee is deposited, your bus will be yours. You can sit back and relax, and our experienced and reliable drivers and team will do the rest of the work.
You may rent the bus as long as you want, however due to rules and regulations, by law each driver can only drive up to 10 hours a day. Over 10 hours would require a second driver and would equal an extra charge.
Our Charter Buses have ample space for luggage and plenty of space for passengers. However, it is important you always discuss your expected luggage amounts when receiving your initial quote. We’ll do our best to recommend a vehicle that can accomodate the appropriate amount of luggage.
At United Bus, we have a team of dedicated licensed, and responsible professionals driving our vehicles. Safety is our priority, so we ensure an experienced driver is operating your Charter Bus. The cost of a driver is included in the overall quote that is provided by our team.
How We Determine Your Charter Bus Pricing
At United Bus Inc., we pride ourselves on providing competitive, transparent pricing tailored to meet your group’s specific needs. Every trip is unique, and so are the factors that influence our rates. Below is a breakdown of how we calculate the cost of your charter bus rental:
1. Travel Distance and Route
The total distance of your trip plays a significant role in determining the cost. Longer trips may require additional fuel, mileage, and time, all of which are accounted for in the pricing. If your route involves tolls or special permits, those are factored into the estimate as well.
Example: A simple transfer between O’Hare Airport and downtown Chicago will cost less than a multi-day journey covering several states.
2. Trip Duration
Whether you need a bus for a few hours, a full day, or multiple days, the length of time you book our services impacts the price. Multi-day trips may also include costs for overnight accommodations for the driver if necessary.
Example: A 3-hour wedding shuttle will have a different price structure than a 3-day corporate retreat.
3. Vehicle Type and Size
We offer a variety of vehicles to accommodate groups of different sizes, from compact sprinter vans to spacious full-size motorcoaches. Larger vehicles generally cost more due to higher operating expenses, such as fuel and maintenance.
Pro Tip: For smaller groups, consider our minibuses for a more cost-effective option.
4. Time of Year and Demand
The season and demand for charter buses can influence pricing. Peak times like holidays, weekends, and special events (e.g., sports championships, festivals) typically result in higher demand, which may impact availability and rates.
Example: Booking early for events like Chicago’s Air and Water Show or holiday shopping tours can help secure better rates.
5. Special Requests and Amenities
If your trip requires additional services or features these can affect the overall cost. We’re happy to accommodate your requests to ensure your group’s comfort and convenience.
6. Location and Pick-Up Details
Your pick-up and drop-off locations are factored into pricing. Trips involving multiple pick-up points or suburban locations further from our base in Chicago may incur additional fees.
7. Driver Availability and Labor Costs
Each trip includes a professional driver who is essential to your experience. For longer trips, federal regulations require rest breaks and potential driver swaps to ensure safety, which can influence the cost.
